My day

I had such a FREAKIN' good day today!!! I kicked butt in school (and basket weaving...I am the proclaimed basket weaving Queen)(I shall put up a picture of my completed basket...When it does, in fact, get completed)!

I've met this great new friend at school! Her name is Laura (Special shout out to Laura!!!) and she's going to start coming to church and youth group!!! I'm SOOOO excited! Everyone is going to love her! Who wouldn't?!

I've met SOO many interesting people at school! And many of them are quite nice! The way they have the school set up this year is really giving us the opportunity to get to know one another better. I love lunch break, because I sneak over (Not so quietly) to Jen's room and have lunch with the "cool" people...AKA the girls in Jen's class. Don't get me wrong, the kids in my class are cool....Anyways, So we talk and laugh and to day we found the reason why Laura is so happy....She listens to Fiona Apple. That has to be it. HAHAHAHA...You had to be there. It's almost like Mike's obsession with AC/DC. (Mike just said, "HECK YES!" I'm sure of it...)

I hope Jim, Joe, Claire, and Amy come back to youth group!!! They are so cool!

You know what that means? NEW SUITS!

I'm going to shock everyone one right now....I'M ENJOYING MATH!!! *Mouths all over the world drop...* It's quite fun! And I love basket weaving. And Ben (a guy in my class) keeps calling me an Overachiever....And I keep saying back to him, "You better believe it!" They keep coming to me for help! It feels so good!

This weekend is so busy. Tomorrow I'm going to call Laura and Lauren (Long, long, LONG distance to Lauren....A mile from Laura's.) Then on Saturday is prop and backdrop make and decorate day from 9:30 to 2....And then my mom has a choir banquet Saturday evening....Then church on Sunday. Possible doctor's appointment in the afternoon for mom...Then mom has ANOTHER doctor's appointment on Monday...Gosh...Wow...All I can say is it better go fast because I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL WEDNESDAY!!!! Laura's going to come! And then Friday is the Hayride! That's going to be SOO MUCH FUN! My first hayride! WOOT!

Well, I had better get going. I'm quite tired and I think I'm actually going to try to go to bed early tonight. Well see...

Later,
Jenn

Floccinaucinihilipilification

From the comic Zippy
Do you think I may be too quick to find fault with things and people, Zippy?
Yeh.
Th' 'floccinaucinihilipilification' process.
Th' what?
Floccinaucinihilipilification!! It means 'the estimation of something as valueless'!
You've been randomly reading th' dictionary, haven't you?
Yes. That and my natural tendency toward antifloccinaucinihilipilification!!

Very few people are going to get this....I know Mike will...And for the rest of you, HA HA HA!!!

Zits Comic

This is EXACTLY how my friends and I feel about our blogs. I think this comic is brilliant. This one individually and ALL of the Zits comics. ZITS ROCK!!! (Sorry it's kind of small and blurry, but I think you will still be able to read it...If you squint.)

Not just any other day...

My finals were today.....I PASSED!!! Well, from what I know anyway. I had to walk/jog 2 miles in 28 minutes and I got it in 27:55 with only one person in front of me (who ran practically the whole way) who made it in 17 minutes. The closest person behind me made it in 31 minutes. My legs were killing me after the first mile, but the second mile was easier, because I could see the light at the end of the tunnel. I definitely passed my history core class (core is the stuff we discuss as a class...Then we have GSL (guided student learning) were we just do our own individual work) (I had to memorize the Preamble to the Constitution....Quite a task....Now watch out...I still remember it.) And then my World history (GSL class) was an open book test, so can you really fail those? So, now I'm onto my next class....Math *blech*....But it's with my favorite teacher and the best math teacher EVER! AND it doesn't start until NEXT Thursday (October 20th) so I don't have ANY homework for over a week!!! I'm so chuffed.

"Oh, what a lovely light fixture..."

My mom and I were discussing music this evening on our way back from Spokane and I was saying how I can't wait (well, I can, but it will be interesting to see) my generation in nursing homes....Will we be listening to punk rock/rock/rap and all that jazz when we're 90 years old? And will the people taking care of us be going "That oldies music..." Have any of you ever thought of that?

Here's a quote that I meant to put up weeks ago, but alas, I forgot. So here it is now.

Cean's friend: "You're morbid."
Cean: "I'm not Mormon, I'm a Christian."

That's why I've nicknamed her "The Blonde Moment Waiting To Happen."

All I'm going to do tomorrow is fun stuff. I'm going to sleep in, watch the Ellen DeGeneres show, watch "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" (and possibly the extras on the DVD), take as shower, and go to youth group. Oh, and play with my puppy. I'm going to be SOOO lazy....YAY! Oh and I plan on writing Lauren and Maggie more letters (even though I haven't gotten responses from either yet). I need to write a letter to Alexz Johnson (Canadian actress/singer) as well. AND Aly & AJ Michalka (Singers/actresses). Boy, I'll be SO busy...*chuckles*

Tyler, I'll bring you CDs and movies to church tomorrow. Can we do what we did last week? We go to Zips and you take me home? Is that a huge inconvenience?

Wow...It's Wednesday already. I've been watching this old Canadian show from the '80s for the last three hours...I know, I watch WAY too much TV, but it's a good show! I've never seen it before, I watch the new version.

I can't wait until Youth group later. I have a feeling that it will be good (and my feelings are about 75% accurate). I REALLY like Dallas and Tanya (Our new youth leaders if you are not familiar). I can't wait to start singing at youth again. That's one of the highlights for me.

I really must go to bed, you know, I have such a busy day tomorrow....How will I ever fit everything in?

Later,
Jennifer

book*of*the*week

A WINTER NIGHT'S DREAM BY ANDREW MATTHEWS

Hey everyone, it's that time of the week again. And this book truly is fit for both male and females (Mike, you should really check it out, you might like it.) It's one of my favorites (Yes, I do realize I say that for every book that I post up here....I also say the same things about songs). It's almost like a Serendipity story. It's (and please forgive me if I get it a little wrong, it's been a long time since I've read it...Mental note, must read again) about Stew and Cassie (Alternates point of view every other chapter) and their ups and downs of relationships. And they are both close when something happens to another. For example, in one chapter is says that Cassie stands in the middle of a crowded street and screams, well then in the next chapter, Stew acknowledges that there's a crazy girl screaming for no reason.

Definitely worth a go.

Homecoming Dance

The homecoming dance is tonight...It's going on as I type this.

I swear, all of Cheney shuts down when any sort of function is going on. My mom and I went to CTC (Cheney Trading Company...It's a grocery store, for those people that don't live here...e.i. Lauren, Aunt Sharon, all the other awesome people in Scotland that MIGHT be reading this) and there was probably MAX 10 shoppers there. It was ridiculous!!! I doubt homecoming was the entire reason for the store being empty, but I have no doubt that was a major part of it.

So, obviously, I didn't attend. I'm not really disappointed about it....Maybe next year *looks quizically* Hmm....Doubt it. So, what have I been doing this fine evening, you may ask (I doubt you really asked that too....). I've been having a one way conversation to Lauren in Scootland (i.e. I've been writing her a letter) and I washed my hair.....QUITE an eventful evening. And the highlight was when the cute checker at the store asked how to cook the squash we had purchased.

I can't wait until tomorrow. It's going to be a good day. We are taping the dialogue for the puppet show....AND Dallas has 2 tickets to the Casting Crowns concert that he is GIVING away!!! I'm SOOO excited! I hope I get one....I've NEVER gone to a concert before....Ooh! That would be so cool!

Well, it's about 10 minutes to 11 pm. And I want to go finish my letter and read a chapter of the Magician's Nephew before I head to bed.

Goodnight everyone!

Jenn

P.S. You'll all have to tell me about your Homecoming experiences. I'm VERY interested.

Tearing down walls...

I'm really glad that walls are being torn down amongst some of the cliques at youth group. DEMOLITION IS FUN!!! (I have no idea if I spelled Demolition right or not....Great.) Although this whole drama that has been going on (and sadly keeps going on) has inspired a story in my brain. I'm so excited! I'm so going to start it tonight!!! The tagline..."Love, relationships, dislike (because you don't hate in church)...That's youth group." Mike? My fellow writer...Will you help me come of with some storylines? OOH! You could give me the male perspective, because I'm not good at that...For obvious reasons.

I raised my hand at youth when Dallas asked if anyone could sing...OMG! I can't believe I did that....I mean...I love to sing...But CAN I really? Good question.

OOOOH! My bargain of the week!!! I was at Barnes & Noble the other day (Only the coolest store ever!) And I was looking through the "Last Chance" cart....I totally found the Collection of Emily Dicknson's poems! How cool! And for only $6....But that's not the best part!!! It must have been 50% off because I got it for $3!!!! I was SOOOO excited! Emily Dickinson is my favorite poet! So, I was just kind of skimming it in the car after I bought it and I found this brilliant poem.

A word is dead
When it is said,
Some say.
I say it just
Begins to live
That day.

So true. You know what is sad about Emily Dickinson? She only published about 4 poems in her lifetime, but after she died they found so many more in her dresser and stuff like that. It's sad that she didn't share with people and earn what she deserved. There's your history lesson for the day!

Well, I'd better go....Go write my story! You'll like this one, Aunt Sharon...Even though I haven't got a clue how it's going to go...I just have a feeling that you will.

Night*

book of the week

SPEAK BY LAURIE HALSE (Pronounced Haltz...Like Waltz) ANDERSON

This is a book that EVERY teenage girl needs to read. The movie version is coming out soon on DVD. I've heard it's really good and is very true to the book. I can't wait to see it! (If any of my friends that live near by would like to read it, I have a copy that you could borrow.)

Bowling!

Hey peoples that are bored enough to read this,

Today my class and I went bowling to raise money for the Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts! It was SOOO much fun! I sucked, but it was all good. We played 5 games and all together I knocked down 349 pins. I was able to raise about $375! I was so proud! I kept getting a ton of gutters while we were bowling and Jason (one of my classmates) kept saying, "It will jump back! It will!" lol....Needless to say, it didn't.

I'm really looking forward to tomorrow...Of course, it's Wednesday. And I get to go swinging! I haven't gone swinging in forever!!! It's so good!!!

My history final is next week (as well as my PE final) and I'm really hoping that my next class is Language Arts, because someone is coming in to teach a section on Poetry and I REALLY want to be in it!!! PLEASE keep your fingers crossed!!! I've been slacking on my poetry...I hate it, but I haven't had any neat inspiration.

If anyone wants something interesting to read, go to the previous entry's comments...There you will see a short story by my good friend Tyler...It's worth a go.

My mom took tomorrow off from work, so I'm glad of that. I think we're just going to have a relax day together. It will be fun.

I feel like painting my nails....Darn. It's too late. If I paint them now, they would be wet when I went to bed and then I would roll on them and they would be ruined....Unless I put a thin first coat now (so it would dry quicker) and then another coat tomorrow....I'm absolutely addicted to that prism nail polish you got me, Katie! You'll have to show me more! I might have to get some more!!! (Yes, I know you got it from Avon....lol)

Well, I think I will go do that...And then I'll read a bit of the Magician's Nephew.

Lots of Love,
Jennifer

I've Got The Music In Me

Hey Everyone,

My cousin (Hey Rob!) and I have been talking about music...I have *71* cds!!! YAY me!!! I have everything from pop, rock, Christian, Alternative, big band, Jazz, and movie and TV show soundtracks. Eclectiveness rocks!

Another topic that has arisen today....The Chronicles of Narnia. I'm SOOO excited for the movie (which is coming out in Decemberween). I have all the books, but I haven't read them...I'm going to read at least the first two before I see the movie. Tyler let me borrow his Narnia tapes and I'm so excited to watch them, but there are three parts and each part is 3 hours long! So, it will take me awhile, Ty, but you know where to find me. So there you go.

Well, my dogs are buggin' and my homework is calling me....And so are those movies...I think I'll put one in.

Later,
Jenn
